Shadow box

Filed under: Uncategorized — angiebaker @ 7:22 pm

Hi there everyone. Hope you all had a great long weekend, that is if you got one.

This was a shadow box that I made for a friend of ours who was home visiting from California. Hopefully it will make the trip back safely with them.

Isn’t Rory a sweetheart. My girls loved playing with her. Especially my eldest who loves babies, she’s very motherly. Did I mention she’s only six. lol

Take care & thanks for stopping by.

Happy Canada Day!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — angiebaker @ 9:25 am

I’ve got Canada in my pocket
A little bit of history
A penny, and a nickel
And a quarter and a dime
Mean a lot to you and me
It’s more than pocket money
They’re the symbols of our land
They’re pictures of important things
For which this country stands

The beaver, oh the beaver
Is a beautiful sight to see
He’s a happy, furry animal
Like a teddy bear with teeth
He’s never ever lazy
He works all night and day
Building houses for his family
He’s got no time to play

Did your children sing this song when they were little? Maybe they still do. Thought I would share a picture from yesterday with you. Some students did these awesome sidewalk chalk drawings at the White Oaks Park. They had tons of children’s activities going on so we checked them out after being in Delaware in the morning for the parade. It was a long day but the kids had a lot of fun…and were both in bed shortly after  7:00. They asked to go to bed…that just doesn’t happen here. lol

Hope you had a great Canada Day, maybe even an extra long weekend for some of you. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by.

Teacher’s Gift

Filed under: Uncategorized — angiebaker @ 10:29 am

Good morning parents, and paper crafters. I think many of us struggle sometimes with gift ideas to give a teacher at the end of a school year. But what do you get a teacher that has taught for 36 years, is retiring, moving…and the school she has been teaching at for the last hmmm…20 + years, is closing. Yes sadly after much debate the school board decided to close Northdale after nearly 60 years of service to the community. My husband went to that school 30 years ago,  so it’s a bit of a sad day.

So Dylan told me that Mrs. Tobin loves to go to the movies so we decided to get her a Cineplex gift card, and to go with it some popcorn. lol

I used this Karen Johnson’s digital image, thought it was most suitable and a Tim Holtz “ticket’.

The box I got from the $ store and decorated it up with lots of goodies. The black piece is an adhesive chalk board that I used my spellbinders Label to cut out and found this lovely saying on someones blog I was browsing but I forget where I saw it now.??

So with all that said, I hope you have a great day. For some of us it’s our children’s last day of school so enjoy it!! lol

Happy Birthday Dylan

Filed under: Uncategorized — angiebaker @ 11:33 am

Hello there my friends. I was doing so well being consistent with my postings but then I got a little busy with some birthday prep that I fell behind. Plus my computer has been misbehaving so that didn’t help either.

My eldest daughter turned 6 yesterday,…wow where has the time gone, Seriously?!! I can’t believe how much she has grown up. Truly a girly girl as you can see by the party attire and crown.  We had a Build a Bear party on saturday with five of her little girlfriends, OMG were they ever excited!! Especially my two girls. The youngest has never been to a “BB” party and this was her first actually Build a Bear. Very exciting. lol

And with so many animals to choose from out of six girls 4 chose the Patriotic Pup (shown here in the pic) and two chose a Flowered Bunny. (I forget it’s name)  Isn’t that funny.

Anyhoo I need to run and make some lunch for the girls.I hope to post her BD card tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hope you had a great day girls!! 🙂

Hellooooooo…

Filed under: Cards, Scrappin' Great Deals, Uncategorized — angiebaker @ 8:53 am

I know, I know. I’ve been a bad blogger. I was doing ok, then I fell off the wagon. Last thing I blogged about was going to Scrapfest, and it was awesome!! Lotsa of goodies, and lots of women, my goodness it was busy!!

My friend Lori and I had a great time, every dinosaur, dragon type lizard thing I saw I pointed it out to her and she usually bought it, lol. Her having two boys, and myself having two girls it was kinda fun shopping for the other.

I bought a few stamp here and there, a bit of paper that I needed like a hole in the head, plus it was one of those “slab” ones so it was heavy to carry around. Listen to me complain, hee hee. We met up with Andrea and Kraftin Kimmie and headed to Red Lobster, anyone that knows me well will know that this was my perfect day!!!!

Seafood and scrapbooking, what more could a girl ask for…wait…a warm molten lava chocolate chip cookie…with whip cream, mmmmm. YUM!!!

Now that’s the Perfect Day!! lol

So anyhoo, todays card was for our friends little boy who turns 5 today,  “Happy Birhtday Ben.”  I used one of the new stamps from Stampavie that Sheila is carrying at SGD and is also available in this months card kit that Andrea and Kimmie put together.

I coloured him in using none other then my copics…that’s all I ever use anymore. I’m truly addicted!!!

Inked around the edges, added some buttons and twine. The sentiment is from Just Rite and I used my spellbinders to cut it out. Pop dotted some things here and there to add some dimension and there we have it.

I think the Birthday boy looked at it for a few seconds and then moved on to the gift like most children do. lol Oh well, I think a few  mom’s appreciated  it 🙂

Did you know that this Saturday is National Scrapbooking day…were you aware that there even was such a great Day!!!

Well there is and if you’re free Scrappin Great Deals  is offering make n’ takes, door prizes and snacks to celebrate such an event.  The Grand prize…a Big Shot~ how awesome is that?!!!

Drop by if you’re in the area it’s gonna be a lot of fun, I hope I can make it.

Have a great day!

Good morning my peeps, lol

I was gonna post his card…but it’s not quite finished. Almost done hee hee. I’ll post that tomorrow.

So today I thought I would post this pic that I took of the two of us this past Thanksgiving weekend. Do you like the hay bales? We were in the maze with our kids when I took this. lol

Just a quick post to wish my baby a very Happy Birthday and to celebrate what a wonderful, caring, loving guy he truly is.

You’re the BEST!!

Love you xo

The Fair

Filed under: Uncategorized — angiebaker @ 8:58 am

Good morning. Hope you had a great weekend. I did! Except our furnace doesn’t seem to be working and it’s getting a bit chilly at times but other then that it was good. We went to the Ilderton fair yesterday even though the weather looked a bit risky. But we were prepared to get wet and we did a little but I brought an umbrella and we were watching the demolition derby while it did rain but we stayed mostly dry. Can you believe that I have never watched one of these things. Mark laughed and said something like “I thought that’s what you country kids did”, lol I don’t remember ever watching one, but it was entertaining.

Both the girls went on a few rides and most of them Dyaln was past the height she should go on without a chaperon which made me a bit nervous cause she hasn’t gone on any rides other then the merry go round at story book gardens and  a ferris wheel with her dad. But she went on this Flying thing where you lay down on your stomach. OMG, she looked nervous, I was nervous. But she LOVED it!!! She said it was the most favourite thing she has ever done.

Anyway that was our weekend, it was a lot of fun. I was laughing so much at the fair I had tears. And I found out that I don’t really like ferris wheels that much any more. They go up pretty high and you’re just sitting there in this little “bucket” type thing. I didn’t enjoy it, but the smiles on the girls faces relaxed me. Until the little one kept standing up yelling ” hi Dad!” Next time I’ll send him. 😉

Have a great day!!

Phebehttp://humblepiethetownscrapper.blogspot.com/

So, I got to play with Maggie today! Heather Hambleton is the illustrator for all of the Sweetie Pie line images. Heather is an uber talented artist! I am sure you are going to agree with me when I say that her images are the cutest! She tells us she has been drawing ever since she was old enough to hold a pencil. We we are so happy to have her as part of our team.

I coloured Maggie in with my copic markers and inked the edges a bit. The designer paper is from my stash, I think it is from a DCWV paper pack I got ages ago. I cut it out using my new Spellbinders labels 7, and I added some flowers I picked up from the $ store and added some ribbon and a few pearls. The sentiment is from the Angel company.

This stamp, as well as others will be available for purchase only at the Town Scrapper! We are taking pre-orders now, so if you want to be sure to get your stamp, give Phebe a call, (519*882*0623) or send her an email…(info@townscrapper.com)
Phebe is offering a grand prize to those bloppers who leave a comment on all 6 Humble Pie designer blogs, AND, link up this blop, and prizes on their own individual blogs! So, after you have commented on all six blogs, you will end up at Phebe/The Town Scrapper’s blog. So, you will need to go to your blog to post this blop details, (and pics of the grand prize), and come back to Phebe’s blog and link us up so that we can take a look!

The grand prize includes a full 6×6 Basic Grey Lemonade paper pad, and TWO Humble Pie rubber stamps – “Dusty” and “Flower Maggie”!

Thank you for joining me on the blop today. Be sure to make your way to the next blog

Humble Pie News! Sneak Peeks soon!

Filed under: Uncategorized — angiebaker @ 6:24 pm
Phebe, aka The Town Scrapper ‘s new Humble Pie stamp line, “Sweetie Pie” will be released very soon!  I am so excited, thrilled, and honoured to be a part of this new venture!  The illustrator/stamp designer, Heather Hambleton, draws the CUTEST images!  Here’s a little bit about Humble Pie Stamps’ newest creative force:

Heather

“Hi there! My name is Heather Hambleton and I have recently started designing stamps for a line called Humble Pie! I live in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, and I am a former Beal Art student.  I have been drawing since I was old enough to hold up a pencil. Drawing is definitely what I would call my one true passion in life!  But when I’m not drawing I can be found at the gym or reading a good book. I am super excited to be designing for Phebe at ‘The Town Scrapper as she is just such an exceptionally amazing lady!  Hopefully all goes well and you will like my images as much as she does!! ”
-Heather H

All of the Humble Pie Designers (including me, of course) will begin sneak peeks on Monday, August 24!!!  You won’t want to miss that!

So, thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check back on Monday!  You’ll be glad you did!
