Good morning, how’s everyone been? I have been MIA for a little while, but I think you’ll all understand. I went to my first scrapbooking retreat this past weekend and it was fabulous!!! I ‘ve never been to one before, and I can’t wait until I get the chance to go again. I didn’t realize how much prep work I would need to do. So that’s my excuse, I was getting ready all last week for my weekend away, did I mention it was just outside of Lambeth. How funny is that. If you didn’t know I live in London, that’s only about a half hour away, lol. But it was nice not to have a long car ride and if I did forget anything I could have popped home to get it.
All in all it was such a great weekend, I completed about 10 double layouts, and 3 singles. Not as much as I hoped for but I would have never gotten that much done at home. I highly suggest if you get the opportunity to go on one of these, just do it you’ll have sooo much fun. And make sure to tell me, I wanna come too
hee hee.

So todays post is for the Humble Pie challenge blog. We were given the task to alter an item. I don’t do this much myself . But here’s what I came up with. I love to save containers if I think they’ll serve me a purpose. So this was an old Tim’s french vanilla cappuccino tin. *yummy*
I covered it with some paper and added Christmas Maggie to it, that I coloured in with my copics and added some crystal lacquer to the ornaments.
Pretty simple, and I’m calling it my “Christmas Cash Stash.” I find if I keep setting some money aside for my Christmas shopping it helps. A girl can try, right?
If you’d like to see what the other designer divas came up with go here. Humble Pie stamps are only available at the Town Scrapper and Phebe is offering a special. Buy 1 item and get 2nd of equal or lesser value for 50% off. Sale is on until the middle of January 2010.
Take care and have a great day!
Arggghhh.
The sentiment is also from Whimsie Doodles. I inked the edges and added a few glittery gems.
The paper is from a Stampin Up Designer pad that I got from Kimmie and Andrea’s sale. I coloured Emma in with my copics. I added some crystal lacquer to the apple but it didn’t photograph very well. The pencil was from another piece of patterned paper that I pieced together to make it longer. The sentiment is from the Autumn Amy R sentiments.
I coloured Hope with my copics, added a bit of crystal lacquer to her gloves to make them stand out a bit. I layered her on different shades of pink, one being Bazzil. I stamped some flourishes on my patterned paper and cut the sentiment out with my nesties. I pop dotted everything and viola. Isn’t she adorable.
I should probably run now and do something with my day. Maybe we’ll carve or pumpkins…hmmm
So if you’re interested give Sheila a call at the store 519-473-5751 and reserve your spot. The class is from 10:30- 1:30.
I coloured him in using my copics, of course right. I also inked the edges with my new Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap distress ink. The paper is from the Scrapbooking store in Mildmay. I added some Stampin Up hodge podge hardware to the corners and also some eyelets.
