HP Challenge

Filed under: Humble Pie Design Team, The Town Scrapper — angiebaker @ 8:15 am

Good morning, how’s everyone been? I have been MIA for a little while, but I think you’ll all understand. I went to my first scrapbooking retreat this past weekend and it was fabulous!!! I ‘ve never been to one before, and I can’t wait until I get the chance to go again. I didn’t realize how much prep work I would need to do. So that’s my excuse, I was getting ready all last week for my weekend away, did I mention it was just outside of Lambeth. How funny is that. If you didn’t know I live in London, that’s only about a half hour away, lol. But it was nice not to have a long car ride and if I did forget anything I could have popped home to get it.

All in all it was such a great weekend, I completed about 10 double layouts, and 3 singles. Not as much as I hoped for but I would have never gotten that much done at home. I highly suggest if you get the opportunity to go on one of these, just do it you’ll have sooo much fun. And make sure to tell me, I wanna come too ;) hee hee.

So todays post is for the Humble Pie challenge blog. We were given the task to alter an item. I don’t do this much myself . But here’s what I came up with. I love to save containers if I think they’ll serve me a purpose. So this was an old Tim’s french vanilla cappuccino tin.  *yummy*

I covered it with some paper and added Christmas Maggie to it, that I coloured in with my copics and added some crystal lacquer to the ornaments.

Pretty simple, and I’m calling it my “Christmas Cash Stash.” I find if I keep setting some money aside for my Christmas shopping it helps. A girl can try, right?

If you’d like to see what the other designer divas came up with go here.  Humble Pie stamps are only available at the Town Scrapper and Phebe is offering a special.  Buy 1 item and get 2nd of equal or lesser value for 50% off.  Sale is on until the middle of January 2010.

Take care and have a great day!

High hopes sleepover

Filed under: Cards — angiebaker @ 9:37 am

Good morning I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. The weather was pretty fabulous I think. It was nice to get outside and get some yard work done, and get the kids summer toys away before they get covered in snow. I know don’t hate me for saying that, but we all know it’s coming.

Todays card is from high hopes, I coloured the girls using my copics, I inked the edges of it with some pink and added some  liquid pearls to the feathers and some white flock to make their slippers fuzzy.  I used my nesties to cut them out and added some ribbon and a few  buttons. The sentiment is from the Angel Company that I thought was perfect and the paper is one of my $ store finds.

Just a quick post today cause I think I’m off to the gym but I’m sitting here procrastinating. It’s been over a week cause I’ve been sick so I really don’t feel I have the energy. Excuses, excuses.  Arggghhh.

Hope you have a great day.

HP Challenge

Filed under: Cards, Humble Pie Design Team, The Town Scrapper — angiebaker @ 10:12 am

Hope you’re all keeping healthy. Whatever flu bugs are out there you don’t want to catch any of them. My entire family has been under the weather for the last few days. Lastnight was the first time I left the house since Sunday. I had to go get a few groceries and by the time I got home I was exhausted.  Anyway enough about that, just stay healthy.  Take your vitamins, wash your hands and take care of yourself :)

So, todays card is for the Humble Pie card challenge this week.  It was to be a circle card. So I pulled out this scalloped circle card that I bought ages ago from Stamp Art and used my nesties to create a couple of more borders.

I coloured my snowman who is from the newest release from Humble Pie, with my copics. I used some crystal lacquer just on the edges and sprinkled some chunkier glitter on to make it look like snow. I also used the crystal lacquer on the lights but there pretty small so you probably don’t see it.  The sentiment I just picked up from Michaels, one of those $1.50 acrylic sets. I love them, I got about six. lol

I popped a few snow flakes as well as the snowman and there we have it.  If you’d like to participate in this weeks challenge or just for some festive inspiration check out the rest of the design teams cards at here.

Have a great week.

Don’t forget to check out SGD.  There having an inventory blowout sale for the next couple of weeks so theres  lots of goodies for sale, DAILY!! Great prices. Get a start on that christmas shopping. ;)

Happy Halloween.

Filed under: Cards — angiebaker @ 9:36 am

Good morning, well  3 out of 4 of us our sick now. I’m still holding strong but starting to waver a bit. I keep drinking my OJ and taking my vit. C but I think the bug might be starting to win. Fingers crossed we can atleast get through for the weekend for the trick or treaters. I hope the weather will cooperate, Please, please, please Mother Nature. Fingers crossed.

Todays card is another digital image that I got from Whimsie Doodles. I love this girl with her little glasses.  I coloured her with my copics added some crystal lacquer to her glasses. The patterned paper is from a Halloween paper pack that I got from SU a couple of years ago.

The sentiment is also from Whimsie Doodles. I inked the edges and added a few glittery gems.

Hope you have a wonderful dry, healthy Halloween.

HP Sketch challenge

Filed under: Cards, Humble Pie Design Team, The Town Scrapper — angiebaker @ 8:57 am

Good morning ladies.  Here’ my DT card which was suppose to be part of the sketch challenge over at the Humble Pie blog challenge but I apparently goofed and didn’t use a HP image, Duh…my bad :( lol

You can see the other DT cards here.

Anyway I used Emma from CC designs and followed the sketch and here’s what I came up with.

The paper is from a Stampin Up Designer pad that I got from Kimmie and Andrea’s sale. I coloured Emma in with my copics. I added some crystal lacquer to the apple but it didn’t photograph very well. The pencil was from another piece of patterned paper that I pieced together to make it longer. The sentiment is from the Autumn Amy R sentiments.

If you would like to participate in this weeks challenge hop on over to the Humble Pie  Blog and take a peak.

Have a great day!

Whimsie Doodles

Filed under: Cards — angiebaker @ 2:04 pm

I have fallen in love with these Whimsie Doodle digital images. Sitting at my computer shopping in my jammies and  I have my images in minutes. Who wouldn’t love that. AND seriously they are sooooooo adorable and a really clean crisp image.

So I bought a few of them, lol. The first being this little girl named Hope Fights. I love her with her with her fighting gloves on and I adore the sentiment. All the proceeds go to Breast cancer research.

I coloured Hope with my copics, added a bit of crystal lacquer to her gloves to make them stand out a bit. I layered her on different shades of pink, one being Bazzil. I stamped some flourishes on my patterned paper and cut the sentiment out with my nesties. I pop dotted everything and viola. Isn’t she adorable.

You can get these adorable images and more at: www.whimsiedoodles.com.  Be sure to check back I have an adorable witch to show you. You’ll love her.

Have a great day.

High Hopes

Filed under: Cards — angiebaker @ 1:58 pm

Hope you’re enjoying this sunny fall afternoon. I think I may head outside shortly and enjoy some of it while I can. I should probably be doing a bit of house work like this little cutie, …but it’s Sunday, I day of rest, right. lol

I coloured the image in with my copic markers cut her out with my nestablilties and added some ribbon, buttons and flowers to match.  Guess where I got the paper, yup…the $ store. lol

I should probably run now and do something with my day. Maybe we’ll carve or pumpkins…hmmm

I have been productive and made six cards this morning with leftover materials from my class yesterday. Thanks to all the ladies that came out,  I had a lot of fun.

Have a great day!

Don’t forget to check out this weeks challenge over at the Humble Pie blog.

Well if you don’t have plans this Saturday the 24th,  you can come join me at SGD for two classes. The first being this cute Halloween treat basket. In four different styles. So you can give them to those favourite little people in your life.

We’ll be using a wide variety of tools and techniques AND copic markers. How could you say no. :)

So if you’re interested give Sheila a call at the store 519-473-5751 and reserve your spot. The class is from 10:30- 1:30.

And if you haven’t had enough of me, lol. You could stay for my second class and we’ll be using flower soft, plus a bunch of other stuff as well. Again we’ll be using copics. I can’t seem to do a project anymore without using my precious copics. I love em so much.

B-day card

Filed under: Cards, Scrappin' Great Deals — angiebaker @ 2:43 pm

What a fantastic weekend!!! My big sis came down this past weekend and we headed out to SGD garage sale. We both found lots of goodies but I think I did pretty awesome cause I came home with one of those Crop in Style rolling suitcase.  For the great price of…$40 bucks. I think these things are easily 100+. So I’m pretty happy. Especially cause I’m going away on a scrapbooking retreat with some friends next month. Woo Hoo!!! Can’t wait.

So we shopped and shopped and then we decided to invite the girls over that night and colour and drink and stamp some more.  It was so much fun. AND my kids stayed in bed, so that made it even better. lol

This is my hubby’s  birthday card from thursday. I used my sister’s high hopes stamp, I thought it was  pretty appropriate for Mark cause he’s a lansdcaper so he’s always in the dirt. lol He also likes to mountain bike so really, he’s always playin in the dirt in some way or another. ;)

I coloured him in using my copics, of course right. I also inked the edges with my new Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap distress ink. The paper is from the Scrapbooking store in Mildmay. I added some Stampin Up hodge podge hardware to the corners and also some eyelets.

I stamped the sentiment onto this paper that looks like sand and added a little hemp bow that I made with my bow easy. I love that thing. Sheila sell them at SGD and they make I think 7 different sizes of bows ranging in size from 3in to little tiny ones. It makes a perfectly flat bow for your cards. You’ll love it.

Also if you like to do card challengs you can hop on over to the Humble Pie blog and participate in this weeks challenge.

Hope you have a great day.

Just a quick post to wish my baby a very Happy Birthday and to celebrate what a wonderful, caring, loving guy he truly is.

You’re the BEST!!
